It has become clear both through industry trends and Google’s own statements that Google My Business and local ads are increasingly becoming more important. The local ads (the ads that appear as map listings within the search results) algorithm is slightly different from that of the organic search results, with reviews playing a very strong part in performance.
As in many other aspects of SEO, you don’t need to compete with the entire world on this front, but you do need to compete in your market. Obviously, in some markets where the strong players have built up hundreds of reviews, it’s more difficult to pull ahead of the pack.
To help out with this, we are putting together a Review Match service that will help reach out to friends and family, former clients, vendors, and anyone else you may have worked within a professional capacity to aid in facilitating reviews. This will be in a limited capacity (12 members) as a beta test and will operate at our cost. Anyone interested in participating should respond in the affirmative, and we’ll set a time to discuss.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
